The idea of Pangaea Café was to create a true “third place”, social place. What better place to do it than a café that has two zip codes, incorporating Curtis and Oak Park, hence the name “Pangaea”. Pangaea is defined as a hypothetical supercontinent that included all the landmasses of the earth before the Triassic Period.
After living in Europe playing basketball and experiencing the local café atmosphere I was inspired to bring something simple and unique to my home town. I thought to myself it was a shame that most of us Americans felt we were too busy and couldn’t afford to enjoy fine foods or beverages. Someone once said, “I love to enjoy fine wines, but I can’t afford it, for $20 or less I can enjoy some of the best beers on the planet”. Now what I once enjoyed in Europe is in my back yard.
When you come to Pangaea Café during the morning, noon, and night you will find quality coffee, food, beer, wine. Now more than ever I believe we appreciate community, and Pangaea’s goal is to foster ours with the best products and services available!
